@Jack Smith I think the fundamentals of DFW are solid (population/job growth).

The whole rehab piece of it is a mystery to me because I'm not handy at all, so I have no fundamental understanding or concept of basic home repair.

And the fundamental question to ask is that if you're going to pay $1,000 per month to live somewhere whether you rent or buy, at the end of 5 years would you have rather paid off $60,000 on somebody else's mortgage or your own?
