Your best bet would be working with a native to find out the specifics on the exact street you choose.

Don't forget about the little things like hings, door knobs, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, switches and outlets, cabinet handles and knobs, permits, etc.

You may still have some old fashioned pay by check people, but I bet they will be in the minority.

Or, and this may be the better bet for you, I often find and can help connect you with a seller of a fourplex or other income property that would do owner financing for 3 or 5 years so you have time to get out of the money-pit and see positive cash flow.
