The calculations and limitations can get a bit complex.There are a host of businesses--called specified service trades or businesses (think: lawyers, accountants, doctors, etc.)

As a Host-partner for STR-A a key item is TIME, you need a longevity of performance of at minimum 3yrs, because you still have that big up-front cost from furnishing, marketing etc. right.

The property also earns rental income from hosting weddings and other events.
