You shall never pour cooking grease or other damaging/obstructing objects down toilets, sinks or drains.

Capital gain and rental income are not our main investment objective but it would be nice to supplement our living expenses.  

Chasing shiny objects without fixing your current problems will only lead to more problems on the future.Fix what is broken now and take baby steps later to build passive income

This is going to be different for everyone based on goals and earning potential at their primary job etc. but at least objectively look at it like a job and determine if your time is worth it. 

Good Morning Nick,I agree our situations are similar but coming from different perspectives which I think can compliment each other to build some great portfolios and help each other complete our objectives.

I think the biggest obstacle I am thinking of after reading some comments would be the objection from neighbors.

It depends on your objectives and capabilities. 

You propose it is not a "business model" or a "process" but you real objections seem to be with the quality of the deals presented.   

Started by building a personal home with the objective to turn it into an investment property How did you find this deal and how did you negotiate it?

That way you take a less emotional stance and look at applicants objectively.
