I know their are single family homes can be converted to small adult care homes for adults needs minimal assistance and food preparation.

If that's the case, I'm not sure you want to be involved with that either.If they were running a consulting business or something not requiring people to come to the property, I'd be totally OK with that (that's like working from home), but you will have children coming, the health department for food, and a lot of other people you may not want monitoring your property.

Usually free food and free drinks.

It’s 99% of the time because tenants are absolute slobs leaving dishes in the sinks and food left out .

Also, having food storage and an emergency fund enough to cover 6-12 months can provide you enough time to regroup from many unexpected life changes.

It looks like the father cooks and the family buys their food as a way of " helping them".
