We live in Hampton Roads and are looking for multifamilies/apartment buildings in good areas of Richmond (in addition to HR) can anyone recommend an investor friendly/experienced agent for us to contact?

City, County, School District and other like road or hospital districts are added together and the sum is your property taxThe issue you have probably come across is that you have more than one collecting entity.  

Where I live as I drive down the road I pass a lot of abandoned homes and I was wondering if there was a way to buy them so I can fix them up and either rent them out or flip them.

Buy SFRs and small MFs....but that's a slower road IMO and you are assuming you will do everything right....probably not....like all of us you'll make mistakes, lose money perhaps, etc...do you have time or the temperament to put up w/that as you may near retirement?

But abruptly my wife decided that life on the road was not for us and made us come back to the U.S..

For instance, "what happens if your children don't want to own this down the road," or "how will you handle managing the contractors when you have construction going on at the property?"

In the meantime, I wanted to quit claim the two or three properties the entity owns into other LLCs or land trusts in case a judgment hits the original LLC down the road.
