We have used mostly interest free loans from our parents (20k), a 25k personal bank loan at 6.5% for 60m, our own cash (25k), and now we are looking at putting the rest on credit cards with cash advances (0% interest for 15m).   

Most parents buy condos for their kids and not houses. 

Hello dear gurus,I bought a property in California in a 50+ community for my elderly parents about 5 months ago. 

To tell the truth, we haven't pumped ours in 6 years and my parents never had to do theirs in 20+ years. 

I have owned a condo under my parents name and sold that several years ago and finally bought my own investment with my fiance. 

If I found out more and it was a teenage boyfriend/younger girlfriend thing where the parents freaked out, I would stay the course.

All units except 1 are currently occupied, which would work because we are living with our parents in order to save up.

As far as affordable housing for students unless they are already not a dependent of someone else and this means they can prove they make the minimum to self support according to tax code and don't live with their parents when not in school they are dependents and there isn't much government wise to help with housing.

I was on a strict budget because this is my parents' house and they still owed a lot of money on the property; I'm just trying to break even with this house and get my money back to do the next deal.I'll provide an update once I hear back from my contractor. 

Or is there a family emergency, like parents having a stroke and now they must move across the state to take care of them.
