Lets assume all this is true and you have a friend who works at a company with a secret connection to HUD that is not publicly listed even though government contractors are listed publicly.  

MARKET yourself, put ads out on Craigslist, banner signs, business cards, drive for dollars (knock on doors), write letters to vacant property owners, and visit your county public records.  

In the past we have advertised with magazine publications such as Realty411 and Personal Real Estate Investor Magazine. 

There is not alot of primary to tertiary literature on this subject matter.Its a long discussion & not very much literature (primary to tertiary info) for the general public.

RMLOs are not trained to go there.A RMLO is the beginner level of mortgage loan financing, they meet the public, explain a loan product, sell the product and qualify an applicant to proceed to underwriting. 3 months ago, they could have worked at Wal Mart

Almost all hangers and related facilities on publicly owned airports will be on land leases, not fee simple ownership.

Point is, it's a public open forum, learn those who know and those who just blow. :) 

Same in RE, it's always about protecting the public, you won't kill someone being an idiot investor, the attention hasn't been that great, but things are changing.Unless you are actually qualified by education and experience you'll have issues selling ideas with deceiving techniques.

Not so much for people to read and comment on and all that blather, but shoot, if I write it down and it's public, even if no one sees it, I will know it's there and won't want the embarrassment of failure.And @Sam McPeek and @Troy Fisher - thanks so much for the very specific references on Dave Ramsey and the mindmapping / SMART goals - those types of things seem to suit me very well and are great, ready-made systems that I can plug-n-play and start creating results.
