I can't speak for NY, but in Texas it's illegal for a real estate license holder to pay a cash referral fee to someone who does not hold a real estate license.

Most card companies make money off of people because 90% of them can't pay it off by the promotion date and the card holders make it retroactive back to the time the account started.I have another 11,000 I am paying off this month or would get hit with 5,000 deferred interest for example.This is why someone buying a turn key property for 30k there is no way a full stud up reno is happening.
