Hi,My name is Ken Pratt and I'm new to real estate and have a strong desire to learn the wholesaling part of the business to start with.

I can't seem to find any private owners who are renting in the zone I desire, it all seems to be property management companies, which is why I came to this forum. 

Newtown CT is a highly desirable town to live in and single family home prices are a barrier for many to enter that town. 

Has anyone ever started at my age, with basically nothing but a desire to get it done? 

@Kevin KeatingI’d recommend looking at STR on the popular platforms in your desired purchase areas and just send messages asking who the agent was that facilitated the sale.

I would suggest approaching firms by saying something like "I currently own a 2 family but plan to buy more in the future and if I find the right Property Manager we would continue to grow with them".

The 3 unit cash flows $675 a month and is on town water and sewer but is in a less desirable neighborhood that is blue collar with much less chance of appreciation.

Rent controls have also led to a large disparity of prices between highly desired vacant properties versus those that are under-rented.I know there's several parts of Ontario with more affordable prices, but they are all at least a few hours' drive away from GTA.

I know that I do not want our company name to constrict us geographically, for example a name like "Connecticut Real Estate Firm."

So, of the place is a pig sty, then we inspect the apartment 1 or 2 weeks before then tenant moves and we have our contractors and cleaning crews lined to do their work like gang busters (whatever that means).We just started using zillow.com about a year ago to rent units and for a while we got some fairly desirable tenants and for the past few week's we've been getting the most-undesirable tenants.
