One more tip – people remember stories that trigger their emotions.

Having a property manager in the beginning took the fear away which enabled me to emotionally take the leap.

It often happens via messages without emotions,  not actually intended. 

Our agent who got us this property in the first place has also suggested that we do some minimal repairs however, I personally think that the structural issue has to be taken care of before we do anything else and that alone is not cheap.In a nutshell, we pulled the trigger too quickly, did not do enough due diligence that we should have done and gave in to the opinion of others, and let emotions take control of our decision making process.

It ignores the fact that many homeowners view their home from more of an emotional perspective (shame of not being able to afford their home, hanging on to the perceived security of "owning their residence" etc, etc) than a financial one.

If it is an end-user that will become the homeowner - then they buy on emotion and the description helps with the emotion.

The house has been in my family for over 60 years, so let me admit that this would be a 100% emotional purchase, which definitely goes against my normal financial sense.

Having a system/process like this takes out the emotion and fear of making a bad decision.
