Todd Michaels Not exactly DIY but siding choices

The house was built in 1903 and the previous owner(s) cut corners on a couple of things, and there has been several changes to the house venting, electrical, etc.; for example I think there are currently about 9 different dryer vent slots located on the exterior but only 2 are actually active...I am leaning towards the hardie for sure, just got to wait for a couple more of the quotes to come back and see if they are any closer to the cost of vinyl.

@Jan NowackiNot sure who Ron is, but yes you can refinish old floors to look as good as new, provided they are not too damaged and have not been refinished too many time previously.However, as others have alluded, there are refinishers who will cut corners and put shoe mould/quarter round down rather than go to the very edge of the room (because the last 1/2" is often done by hand).

the area is very nice well kept , its a corner property and on the opposite corner is a small mom and pop deli, at the top of the street is the local elementary school with a play ground and feild for kids aswell as a large playground/ football /baseball feild/ basketball courts a few blocks away with organized sports running concurrent to the sports season. lowes and giant as well as several food places  about a block away also. deffinitly alot of conveinece in the neighborhood. no inspector has looked over the property other then myself and partner twice already
