I once owned a couple of condo hotel units on a resort island in Northern Michigan!

My problem is that I live on Long Island.

@Timothy Church is also in Galveston and knows the island VERY well. 

I live in Long Island NY but invest in Allentown PA for cashflow properties.2 hour drive for me but possibly much shorter for you.

I'm obviously not in HI, but I have been there a few times and have been to 3 of the Islands. 

Communication from erent is horrible.... there was a recent posting in the Facebook page (erent discussion group) that broke down HOW the system works - its a fascinating read, much like "The creature from Jekyll Island", how the whole ACH system works and where it can fall apart.

Most locals don't want mainland investors coming to the island and displacing people.

But you'll see strange parcels of land, like 2k sq ft islands between 5 homes with no road access that have tax liens.3. 

I'm specifically interested in data sets in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island but national sources are good too. 

No other state can.Texas has a ranch (one ranch) that's bigger than the entire state of Rhode Island.
