I am a 10 year Navy veteran who will be finishing up my degree in Finance this summer.  

From what I understand the VA pays all or a portion of the veterans rent and if the veteran tears up the place the VA will pay to repair the property unlike section 8.

I'm currently working for the DVA and I love helping my fellow Veterans but unfortunately I am not able to live the life that I want to live clocking in and being stuck in a cubicle all day so I have decided that the best way for me to get out of my cubicle and finally get to financial freedom was through real estate investing.  

I know of one here in Boise where the manager is one of the residents, and they are all Veterans.  

So I figured that could help raise the capital and let the veterans do what they love.Is there any real estate investors in or around Portland, OR that is willing to teach me?

Even a veteran like myself took a weekend class and learned a few bits of knowledge.
