Hi Everyone,I purchased a tax lien on a property and found out today that the name on the tax assessor's website is the name of a person who bought a tax certificate in 2020.

Because of my professional experience, we'd prefer that our properties be nearby so we can self-manage and save the 5-8% typical of property management fees, at least until our portfolio grows.

I personally am liquid in the realm of $100k with no assets.

At least that way I can use some of the cash flow to save for a personal residence.Any advice/perspectives on how I should approach this?

For my own sake I wouldn't be comfortable walking away without at least 20-30k in personal liquidity in a 4-5% credit union acct.

I am local and could even view in person to get a real time experience if you like. 

I would prefer to find a local CPA that I can actually meet with face to face if need be, at least for now just getting started.

I'm personally looking at the 2-4 space right now as I think there should be good opportunity there to make the numbers work in high-value markets

Next day another person calls in, just repeating what I said the day before in a dumb way and eventually said, you know you have to refinance the 1st mortgage, right?

Hi Kristin,Most DSCR lenders won't check your personal income/tax returns.
