@Michael Haynes - issue is we’d be profiting $800k and I can only exclude $250k… Zero chance I’m paying that much capital gains tax for something I earned quite literally with my bare hands.I just got off the phone with 1031 intermediary and we might not be able to 1031 at all.  

Personally, I don't mind renting as I view it as paying for convenience and mobility.- Would the house serve as a good rental property if/when you choose to move?

All of the handy trades are in high demand here in Florida and most property management companies would be ecstatic just to have your phone number, if for nothing else as a backup go-to. 

Aside from the farmhouse, there is a 3 bedroom mobile home on a basement foundation that is currently rented and market rent on that home is 1400-1500.

You have people all around you that want you to succeed, and help them on their journey as well.Watch what happens when you pick up the phone and call without an agenda.
