So being an employee or even getting paid as an independent contractor working on a percentage basis for projects can be a good way to "get your foot in the door" of the business, without learning it all the hard way.I recommend against getting started and learning form your mistakes. 

Looking to get my foot (back) in the door by house hacking in the Philadelphia PA market, preferably multi family. 

I'm concerned most buyers can't look at prints and a construction site and envision the finished product.

We put that in all our houses in high foot traffic areas.

I do like @Jon Klaus mentions, give myself permission to take the foot off the gas, build equity and cash, but don't pass on a great opportunity.

Perhaps they would be willing to move to a more cost effective place in the USA to live since you are footing the bill for housing?

The one thing I find necessary is to take this 1338 foot 1 bath home with W/D connection in kitchen is to get the W/D elsewhere and maybe add 2nd bathroom to complete it.
