But even if I just learn ONE THING from a book I consider it money well spent (whether it's a new sentence to add to my lease, or the list of 'dangerous dogs' that cause the majority of 'bite suits', or whatever -- then I have added that one thing to my knowledge base).There are some good threads here on books people have found valuable.

Even if there was mold on the frame at one point, if it has been completely dry for years, is there any chance it could be dangerous and/or show up positive on a mold test?

You must pay to have your house tested for those items and then if they do have them, pay to have them cleaned or disposed of properly.It sounds like you possibly purchased these properties sight unseen which can be very dangerous, especially in a market like Detroit.
