I was just saying 15k for one dwelling unit is nuts. an offshore architect is an architect not located in the United States. it means he can get to projects quicker, faster, more affordable, and higher quality than most architects in the United States. most architects want 10k for a set of drawings and I can get it done for 1/5 of that.

The nly thing about the SFH-with-basement rental set up is that unless you have the right zoning, if/when you move out,  you can't rent both units separately.

The other issue with 'second set of eyes' for someone to look over your work is that the person doing that may be required to 'sign' as a preparer which can then put the firm at more risk.
