This was a perfect set up as it had a walk out basement/separate unit with 2 beds/1 bath and a kitchenette.

HiI have been reading BP for the last month and find in a great place to learn.My real estate experience includes working at a rental agency for 5 years and going PM accounting for 4 years.

With that being said I think you will find the multi-family model, 2-4 units more profitable, than a SF.

The owner died in 2020 from what records I can find.

Perhaps someone with more intimate knowledge of the area can validate or dispel the type of neighborhood this is but it’s normally not good if that’s one of the first things to populate on the internet.

On the other hand, a home equity loan gives you a lump sum with fixed payments, which is more predictable and great for one-time expenses like consolidating debt or buying a rental.
