I just saw all my insurance policies come down for the first time (renewal last month) and my condo association is expecting a flat or decrease at renewal.

Last week I received a letter from my insurance company stating they were going to discontinue my policy due to the current condition of the property (missing siding) and due to the fact that I am not currently living there (which is not true).I contacted my insurance broker and due to the fact my current insurance company disclosed the cancellation, they could not find another company that would insure the property.I just filed a dispute with the state.

Don't know how much losing the homestead is going to increase your payment but you will need to change your insurance to a dwelling policy (landlord) not a homeowner policy.

We have 3 companies bid every property annually and we add the cost of consumables to cleaning cost and that is what the guest pays.Airbnb will convince you to charge $100, flex cancellation policy, instant book, and no cleaning fee if you let them.

However, due to it being:1) In the state of California2) A shared home, rather than an outright external property being rented...the default insurance company on offer advised that many carriers are pulling out of CA and that I should go to a local insurance agency. My current insurance for home policy does not offer a "home-sharing endorsement" but only a separate renter's insurance, which would complicate things, since it's for traveling professionals, and they're not going to be booking for 12 straight months.

I've been approached by a couple of sober living facilities and would perhaps prefer an independent living provider if possible (with 4 units in Cape Coral it's categorized as commercial so all ADA requirements, fire safety, etc. have been provided).

I am a new multifamily investor (5-20 units) along the Front Range specifically Boulder and Jefferson Counties and am having the same issues when it comes to getting quotes.Brokers and agents have told me that some areas near us are simply uninsurable now. Most owners that I meet have are still in policies from before the fire. What have you learned in the two months since posting this?
