It's a wait game and a lot of patience as the auctions keep on getting postponed. 

I feel that the foreclosure sale is a waste of time most properties are postponed or taken back buy the attorney for the bank.

I know in Mass, that they are auctioned off on the front steps of the property, and that often times these sales are postponed for various reasons.  

Postpone your closing until the unit is vacated!

I am finding that the longer the eviction ban in California is postponed, the more we are willing to sell our rental property and invest out of state.

Post covid, the market may have postponed that correction and the government has attempted to do so as well with lowering interest rates.

I think it's safe to say I was the only JCU freshman who owned his own house (albeit a dumpy house in a rough neighborhood).I don't usually recommend that young adults should postpone or skip college... but in your situation I think there may be a clear case for an exception.

Also, the main concern is the foreclosure auction date and trying to postpone it to allow a short sale review to take place. 

Do I have any protection due to the weather/power outages for a postponed close date or any other options? 

But that was an extra hour or two with seller/buyer/title insurance discussions about escrowing and whether to postpone closing for the 2-3 months it would probably take to resolve
