I personally own 2 rentals in Indiana.

Personally, I'm fine with it but I'm not very demanding for a sofa so it means little.

I think they meet in person, but not sure it may be on zoom - they are not members of MAREI, so I don't have all the info - they do post their meeting on Meetup.And there are a lot of virtual meetings, plus MAREI events on our calendar. 

I remember some of my staff trying to rent rooms and they would get 70 applications and interview potential roommates in person to see if it was a good fit.

They are either speaking out of their limited experience or claiming something is legal or illegal based on personal preferences. 🤓🧐  thanks  Scott:)

I personally put them on a schedule, long term, because I do not have the time to do the work myself and contracting it out all in one shot comes with a large bill.  

Separately I have a personal umbrella policy.

I have been investing mainly in trust deeds but like you got connected with Dave and just recently ended up investing in his fund, my primary reason was for diversification and because it is passive.
