After his passing, I inherited a townhouse in Brooklyn worth 900k.

We have used various methods to save up for down-payment funds: we set aside pay raises instead of consuming them, re-enlistment bonus sums, tax-free income from deployments, an inheritance check, the tax-free savings account while deployed...And so forth.  

I don't like to inherit tenants, so if I buy a place with tenants already there, I budget to make sure they don't stay (either I pay them to leave, ask them to leave, or evict if they won't and their lease is up.)  

Buy or inherit and hold for a long time, then cash out and redeploy equity into potentially higher cash flowing properties or other investments.2.

Maybe or may be not, I plan to get loan in the next few months for an inherited property in North Carolina but I do have dinged credit from past mistakes.

Taking over inherited property of my family and I need to make sure the paperwork is correct so I can have proper control to gain access to the equity for future deals. 

You never know what you might inherit.

But since I would be the one who inherits completely empty units, would it still be illegal to do this?  

This tenant was inherited when I bought the building last year and this is the period when their contract is up for renewal.  

I'd like to try to get out of a laundry service contract that I inherited in buying a property by sending a notice.
