On another note, that area of town is of immense interest to as for an investment property as we look to get our first place!

It is the biggest meetup in NH, the speakers provide an immense amount of value, and you won't find better networking opportunities at any other meetup.

There is a very distinct, yet immensely important, difference.I disclose the character component because honestly, it is a factor for me.   

I've lived here for three years and have enjoyed it immensely. 

Networking with investors that are already doing this would help you immensely.

@Axel MeierhoeferI have never used quicken, but I think YNAB(you need a budget) app could be an immense help to you.

Having a license and access to the MLS has helped out my career immensely.

Being a note investor, I think, gives me additional advantages in real property investing that I would not otherwise have developed, i.e. creative financing techniques and approaches, more innovative marketing approaches (note appraising, to name one but there are quite a few others), extensive experience with negotiating and finding workable solutions for sellers and getting more offers accepted, etc have really increased my ability to find and negotiate very favorable hard real estate deals.In short, note investing has helped me immensely in my real estate acquisition efforts (I did things in "reverse" order-- notes first which paved the way into my real estate.)
