I hoping to start a charity or some kind.

You should prepare for it by making it worth your time and ensuring it's properly documented.I have a one-page addendum to add or remove a tenant and I charge a $50 fee for my time (it takes 15 minutes but I'm running a business, not a charity).If I have multiple tenants and Tenant A wants to move out, I have them fill out the addendum and pay the fee.

It's a business not a charity.

But I'm not running a charity and it isn't my fault that life dealt her a raw deal or she planned poorly for her future or some combination of both. 

I'm sure that the gals and guys at BP are nice people, but they're not running a charity.

Then I chase money because my wife has a charity helping indigent children in India and we both want to expand it.

However, were I to do it at a charity fundraiser or the like, it would fit perfectly as long as it didn't come off insincere.

I'm not wealthy enough to do it alone and I was wondering if BP has designated a charity to support.
