My current home is a 3/1 and it seemed like the previous owner was turning a large closet into another bathroom but stopped. 

They want to install a hanging closet rod, and a shelf in the master closet is bowed but functional.  

It would be less destructive than running duct work and they can mount on a wall in a small closet.

Go through closets, wardrobes, toys, garages, etc. and make piles of trash, donate, keep.

I live in Westchester County, NY, and I am considering taking a room in the corner of my house on the first floor and turning it into a rental.The infrastructure is already in place where I would only have to put up a few walls to keep it separated from the rest of my house, but it is a large room with a closet and bathroom that I would like to rent out.It may not be much but I feel like this would be a step in the right direction and a good way to practice being a landlord.My question is: What kind of tax implication would this have on me?

If renters want to sleep in the closet or on top of the kitchen counter, that's really none of your business.Edit: you can also reduce the likelihood of this happening by implementing occupancy standards.

But I haven't heard back yet.Alt option: relocate to coat closets in apartments $1200 per side.

I'm looking for ideas or insight to see if there is a secondary market typically for portable units like this?
