The essence of the "shotgun" is this: - If a partner wants to get out of the contract at any time, they can offer to buy the other partner out.- The other partner has two options in response to triggering a shotgun - they can either accept the offer for a buyout, OR they can in turn buy the OTHER partner's interest at the offered price.
