However we got it done it just added about 5 weeks to the process because of the changes and different departments we had to deal with to get it converted. 

It's like being a manufacturer and going to a retail store to buy your product, doesn't make a lot of sense!

Even if you could change the terms or add rules (which you probably can't), you may not be able to change the practices (in short, hard to make the leopard change his spots) and they will  keep parking and storing and planting as always, or you will have to constantly remind them.

Visit a store that sells natural gas appliances and bring the photo with you, the sales people may have an idea.

If you use paint, make sure this cures for at least a week before you store anything in those cabinets to prevent "blocking". 

Those $20 pin-style moisture meters at the big box stores are darn handy. 

Recruit the departing tenant to your marketing team.

Call the building department if you're unsure.

Lowes' prices are a bit higher near me and I'm not fond of their stores.
