Jon,I don't think an aspect of this business will be easy and your points are valid because I'm getting in this business because I want to move away from just a job.

I am now renting my primary residence for 1 year as I live with my sister to get the "landlord" aspect in my experience as required when applying for mortgages.

Unless/until you feel you are 100% comfortable with all aspects of a real estate transaction and the legal issues surrounding real estate transactions, I highly recommend you use a great real estate agent and/or attorney to assist you.
