Basement is used for laundry and storage, which is equally divided for each unit.Driveway and 2 car garage as well!

May go into warehouse, industrial,  self-storage for more diversity under the RE umbrella. 

But, if you know Pittsburgh like a pro, convince us why we're idiots and that we should be investing in self-storage instead LOL!

I agree with Colton, as I've recently found some syndications in self-storage and larger multifamily acquisitions.

My SFR rental is currently renting for $1500 and it is 4b/2b, 2 story house with almost 1 acre of a lot, wooden deck and 2 garages with room for 3+ cars and the basement is used for a storage unit. 

I also detail this in the final 1/3rd of my BP book on storage.  

If you want to physically own the doors than going to a larger multifamily, Triple net lease, mobile homes, storage units would be the way to go. 

That is what we use at our STR and our home with no issue.The Yale assure is a mesh device that needs a wifi bridge.

by renovating the units like kitchen ,bathrooms and rooms , adding sq ft to the bathroom also adding more rooms , finishing my basement and remodeling the attic for extra storage What was the outcome?
