They had decent 'reviews' on Google -- but, that hasn't been reflected in the service we've seen from them.

@Chris Seveney Ah, true . . . ultimately my basic plan is just to make enough (with all of the companies) that it's a no brainer either way, but just curious if there were particular companies that are legitimate that I could reach out to that'd be more along the lines of the real estate loan (as googling random companies makes me nervous)

Post Signs that say "no trespassing" .... after that, I'd google the address, hopefully find the ad on the internet, and contact the PM.

I've done some preliminary research on going solar for my primary residence (two unit with flat roof and almost no shade according to comed and project sunroof by google)Ive run my numbers a few times and I understand there are tax incentives and that next step is to find a contractor to give an estimate.

I see some random results of companies I've never heard of come up with Google but curious if you've ever done business with one you can recommend. 

I disagree with your premise about "smart" based on a quick google search and this story (sorry, can't access Pacer at the moment to get a link to case): "Allen Weisselberg, who for decades was one of Donald Trump's most trusted and loyal employees as chief financial officer of the Trump family business, pleaded guilty on Thursday to 15 counts ranging from grand larceny to tax fraud to falsifying business records, becoming the latest person close to the 45th president to plead guilty or be convicted at trial of a felony."
