Here are the details:I am getting a package of 6 houses and 1 empty lot under contract from the sellerHe rents out 5 of the houses to tenants but is letting his brother live in the 6th house for free (he promised his deceased mother he would take care of his brother)Each of the different homes have their own addressesWhen looking in the public records all of the houses are on the same Parcel / Tax ID #The seller wants to try to keep the house that his brother lives in out of the deal so his brother has a place to live and is taken careThe seller lives out of town in southern Alabama and owes at least 2 years of back taxesSo my questions are:Is it normal / legal to have more than 1 home on a single parcel?

Mark Henry Seller/Property Manager lied about rental income on multi family
27 November 2016 | 16 replies
Outline of events-  Bought a quadplex about a year ago- We asked about income/expenses from the past seller and were given monthly statements/expenses for the past couple of years which looked promising.- We have some conflicts of interests here, the seller's agent was also the previous property manager and we retained them as our property manager since this was an out of state purchase.- Fast forward a year and the rents seem no where near what we were promised and the maintenance is on the higher side with constant evictions and maintenance issues.- We recently secured mortgage on another unrelated property and during the process when we asked for statements from our property manager, they offered to cook the books for us to make the income show better.
