Culinary school & Hotel/ Restaurant BS degree, Worked as Chef, manager and owned a sucessful restaurant, sold it and wondered if there is a better way to prosper without working huge hours.

Think about how people feel when they rent a car or stay in a hotel room?

If the tenant travels, the bugs could have infiltrated luggage while in a hotel.

You may also deduct the destination expenses you incur on days when you do rental-related tasks such as the hotel bill, 50% of meals, parking ect .

I'll be interested to see what @Michael Kugler comes up with, but it's kind of like as @Peter R. said, trying to make a start-up cable company in a town where it already has a monopoly.Airbnb has four million listings worldwide -- more than the top five hotel companies combined -- 500,000 nightly stays, and they are quickly becoming the choice of millennial travelers.

Lesson learned--look at zoning before making an offer.When we were first looking at Airbnb, I was given the advice by a private lender with hotel experience to call/email 10 of the top rated hosts in similar markets to find out what works, what doesn't work, how to differentiate, % of income that goes to expenses, etc.  

I compare AirBNB to a hotel stay (because that is my option, stay at a hotel), not leasing a property for years.

Seems like an overabundance of headache, work & possible issues for little, to no benefit.I would either stay at a hotel when I came to town or just get a place with a roommate.

New job in town hubby already there working living in efficiency hotel. 

Anyway, just my two cents. that sounds about right its like when I am looking at hotels in a new area and you have the on line reviews 6 will say it was the great vacation over 1 says it sucked  . then management gets on and says Hey we are sorry we will do better next time..  ?
