As a result it cannot be removed in one piece.I can chop it in half with a saw but I don't know what to do about the refrigerant and I don't want to run afoul of any regulations on releasing refrigerant.Has anyone solved this problem before?

First off, Coldwell Banker isn't even a bank .. they are a real estate brokerage.Secondly, it doesn't matter who gives you the loan, it will be a mortgage on the property, which means it's not Free and Clear until they are paid off in full and release their lien.

But perhaps, the existing mortgage was a LOC, or it was Modified, which would mean the previous mortgage wasn't released, but the new higher amount would be to be contested.
