You have easy access to beaches, mountains (skiing and hiking), awesome restaurants (Portland was named 2018 Restaurant City of the Year by Bon Appetit in 2018), a fantastic craft beer scene, far less traffic than found in some of the other states and also affordable!

The traffic count there is extremely high, made up of 90% vacationers, but there are no competing hotels nearby, just a handful of small cabins and bed and breakfasts.
