When those ARMs come due and refinancing rates are significantly higher than when they bought in 2001-2002, when they have kids, get divorced, quit their jobs or get laid off...you name it.

There are still plenty of families here, and lots of them have kids.

I'd like to find out if there is a maximum amount of mortage interest that one is allowed to write off of income taxes in any given year.I'm a newbie and here's my situation:I'm a farily new lawyer (48 yrs old, unmarried, no kids, no property) on my second career having worked as an engineer for a major corp. for the last 20 years.

So in other words, theres no way the state can really prove if I'm receiving rental income or not... and neither can child support.I've tried showing the court my kid shouldn't be living there, I've shown them pictures of their garage that was being supported by a 1980's van thats been abandoned for years, pictures of the concrete stairs that are falling apart and my kid falls on them all the time, the house is drafty because there's no siding etc... they all live like scumbags.

No kidding!

I own several properties in a "ghetto light" area (shootings once a month rather than every week and kids still ride their bikes around during the day).

If any of my kids or nephews decide to study a white collar field where some folks in that field open private practices, I'll be suggesting they get a minor in marketing. 

I loved teaching and I enjoyed my students but it was hard to see so many kids and teachers fall through the cracks due to bureaucracy at all levels.

My kids can afford my Alma Mater.

Looks like a good avenue to do the homework I need to do before I get started.
