I recently purchased a multi-unit where part of the sale was to upgrade the electrical to meet code.

They use a financial advisor to over see the sale of a triplexes in Brooklyn and a multi in Honduras.

These units have to be rented with good ROISorry for short notice, will need a good agent as well.ThxI want to buy and hold 4 Multi units in Phoenix Arizona.

I have California clients looking for turnkey SFRs and small multi-families for a buy-and-hold strategy. 

Have you ever checked the county records  to see how many houses the "so called" investors that use that system are?   

Where I live legal multi family homes seem few and far between, but single family homes with apartments attached whether they are basement or garage converted seem to be more prevalent.

And to answer your question, yes, I am currently renting the home I live in now, while the lease expires mid next year, I will be looking to purchase what may be my first investment property with a possibility to "house hack" a multi- family unit.

My preference is multi-family around 200k to 300k.
