Airbnb has a security deposit that's not really a security deposit if you dive into that. also in some areas that are not as strong a market, requiring a damage waiver or security deposit may reduce bookings. some people here who have done longer-term rentals such as to travel nurses to get through the winter, find requiring a security deposit makes  some people decide not to take your space
