- I called the HOA and they said that if the pipe is servicing my unit then it is my responsibility and if the pipe is servicing their unit, then it is theirs.

Yeah, it's easy to find tenants, but prices in/around Cary just don't support buy-to-rent as a business model.Maybe it would if you added an ADU, but do check closely with HOA rules to make sure they're allowed first -- a listing agent should be able to get a copy.
