Another landowner told me that he was approached by an outfit seeking land for the installation of windmills or windfarms as they call it.

I've seen in other threads that a lot of landlords basically always include a dishwasher and tile the shower, even for lower end properties.

You can have private meters installed but sometimes it is too cost prohibitive.

I got creative by installing an exterior door in the right place to essentially turn it into a duplex: airbnb in the main house thru the front door and a simple mother-in-law apartment where I lived entering thru the side door.

I comment because the other issue I am facing is that the insurance company is canceling coverage because 2 of the units didn't have heat already installed when we did the inspection and now I am also scrambling to find out what type of heating they will cover.

For this particular duplex, both apartments are in  good/ modern shape, fresh paint, nice flooring,stainless appliances, and some little extras (lighting or tile). 

Be prepared.When you do replace them, try to cut down on costs by purchasing and installing multiples.
