The goals is numbers with dollar signs in front, not street names behind.

@Yaniv Kehat - in addition to Milwaukee proper, which is pretty much pocket by pocket and street by street, take a look at other nearby working class communities that are popular with investors - West Allis, Cudahy, Wauwatosa and city of Waukesha.Svetlana

From a tenant perspective, I probably would have caved to a property manager quicker, as I would have trusted their judgement from jump street.

Before I bother looking at any property I pull it up on MLS, use google earth and street view and any other resources I can find.

I agree with Mike, the real deals are definitely not found by searching websites.Based on your situation, I would put together a marketing plan in addition to "beating the streets", joining/starting an REI club, and general networking.

The parts are being shipped in.Chances are that that rice burner the guy down the street drives is more of an American car than your GM.
