1st Post (a bit of an introvert on all things Social media) - bare with me.

Without a second income we depended on social programs in order to put food on the table and keep the lights on.

Get good at public speaking and throwing events, social media presence, and hangout with rich people.

You can connect with an agent that works there and give them these requirements and tell them what your goal is, do a Zillow (or whatever website you choose) search, post to social media accounts that you are looking for such property, set up Biggerpockets alerts, tell everyone you talk to in a casual or direct way, go door knock if you are able, and whatever other ways you can think of.

(I'm a firm believer in your "ONE Thing")  But there is a little bit you can do ahead of picking a brokerage, like setting up your social media to help with later lead generation.

I have, what I would consider great people/communication skills (my parents raised me very traditional and I can talk to a wall better than I can communicate on social media lol).

I am finding my self reading on bigger pockets more and more, and reading less on social media and other pointless websites.
