There is a "Find an agent" tool on BP that will connect you to agents that act as solid resources to get started.  

My agent brought me a property that was soon to be listed last year and the listing agent just sat on it and sat on it and 8 weeks went by while he showed it to me and a bunch of people but never listed it.

If you're working with a Real Estate Agent, they should have referrals for insurance brokers for you.
