its a disarming question that identifies if there are smokers as not everyone is forthcoming about being a smoker and might smoke in your unit despite your non-smoking policy.

For those that are allowed to require electronic payments, is this something you would disclose to an applicant like the allowance of pets or smoking, or after they have been qualified?

Bam, bam, bam, you knock on the door, check the smoke detector batteries, check for leaks under sinks, make sure the A/C isn't dripping inside, check quickly in the shower for mold, ask the tenant if there are any issues they need to report - and bam, knock on the next door.  

I'm telling new landlords not to believe a co-signer will give them a problem-free tenant, you won't have to evict.And the tenant with the baby daddy - they were smoking against the rules in the apt, and there were cigarette burns all over the carpet where it was obvious they'd dropped a cigarette and just let it burn out on the floor.  

In his current lease it stats that he is not allowed to smoke in the building.

Cigarettes are legal as well, but you don't allow smoking in your property.
