@Chinmay J.Thanks for the update, i had researched this style of investing, but like you i dont think it fits my personality or comfort level.

Living in the building teaches you a lot.One of the most valuable lessons while living in the building is that you must do your BEST at Tenant Due Diligence otherwise, you will have a neighbor you dislike!

As an investor you go to properties to see how “bad they are” but with typical buyers she goes to see “how nice the place is” and I will be the first one to admit is not easy to see bad place, after bad place, after bad place, it takes a certain personality to deal with that kind of environment day in and day out, because at the end of the day is not just about money is basically a life style.

If the multiunit property is something along the lines of a large condominium complex / large apartment 30 unit complex, then the ball game seems to be a little different (But i cannot say, I'm not in the apartment / condominium complex game)Based on some experience I have, if it's something as of a duplex / SFR style multi unit, you can probably do it yourself (even if it's a couple hours away).3.

No one is going to teach you everything, obviously, and it's unlikely you're going to find someone to hold your hand.

Most people that retire in style do so because their home is paid for think of the milliions of Californians  that did so and now us in the Northwest. those that are commenting from fly over country were there houses might go up 20k in 10 years I get that.. they look at homes much different than we do on the west coast.

I got to meet and learn from millionaire real estate investors.A lot of people on this site may ask if the guru is so successful at investing then why are they teaching.

For example, one could safely invest in West Hollywood,  Hollywood or North Hollywood,  an area with dozens of miles between including multiple zips and still be ok (throw a dart style).

A personal home is a life style choice never a investment for the vast majority of regular people.
