Hello everyone.I plan on househacking and, since multi-family is hard to come by, I have heard some people buy a SFH and live in the basement while renting out the rest of the home and renovate the basement in the process.To me it seems like it wouldn't really impact rent amounts too much unless I added bedrooms and I feel like the deal would already have to cash flow because of that I know this can be pretty nuanced but I am open to everyone's thoughts.Thank you!

My client's plan was to live in the property for a year and then refinance, however I explained that you'll only be able to refinance to another loan type if you have enough equity (20-25%).
