Typically it comes from pets peeing on the floor, but I can see clear area rub lines, which makes me just think these are old wood floors that are showing their age/character.Having a local professional assess them is the only true way to know.  

Also, I'm still open to the idea of renting, so if anyone has any leads on a landlord who would like some residents with a great credit score, no pets, and never party, I'd love to hear! 

They also recommended newer toilets that flushed better.I had clog issues over the years, and plumbers usually can tell me what caused it, like a tenant flushing down left over food, diaper's and I can then confront the tenant.

Also anyone familiar with AZ law know if you are allowed to protect youself from damages from "servcice animals" I read that for pet deposits service animals are NOT pets.TIADJ
