I did contact the utility company and they suggested to give them a call during business hours and have the utilities disconnected since I no longer own the property.

The town owns the lake, so they get a little more leeway there and people who own $4 million homes don't want to see mud flats, so the lake stays full most of the time. 

My wife and I are needing some advice on if we should get a HELOC or not at this time.Current situation: We currently own a duplex, a short term rental in the Smokies and a primary residence.

I am in Tampa and we have a different MLS, but there is a "days on market" field in the MLS search engine that will allow an agent to search that.

Reach out to real estate agents in BP in the areas you're thinking about.
