The cost of the studies usually is not worth it for smaller assets, as the potential tax benefits are not worth the cost to achieve them.And as Will mentioned, even having these studies done and using the bonus and/or accelerated depreciation, may not net any real benefit to your tax situation, hence you need to talk to your CPA.
